For over 20 years, 5 Meetings Before Lunch's founder and principal David Ibsen has been a consumer and technology marketer, executive, and consultant working with some of the world's leading brands.

He has led agency teams for Microsoft, Xerox and Novell, and was on the launch teams for Lexus, and Hyundai automobiles. He also has served as "virtual" VP of Marketing or VP of Client Services at several start-ups, building these departments and eventually hiring full-time successors. David directed the global re-branding of Autodesk and the revitalization of the marketing organization at Macromedia. He started his career in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco with the ad agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Bates Worldwide and Young & Rubicam.

In 1998, after a long and periodically rewarding career as a corporate marketing executive and agency brand strategist/account director, David founded 5 Meetings Before Lunch. Responding to marketplace need and an interest in returning to his passion for strategic, market-driven brand-building, David has spent these last 9 years building a successful consulting practice, working with over 35 clients in a variety of industries.

In addition to his consulting practice, David writes a nationally recognized brand and marketing blog titled "5 Blogs Before Lunch," which, in 2006 won the jury prize for Best Business Blog at the prestigious Webby Awards, and was recognized by the International Academy of the Visual Arts as a W3 Gold Award winner. In 2007, the Webby Awards acknowledged 5 Blogs Before Lunch as an Official Honoree, and Advertising Age included David's Blog in its Power 150.
